Professional training, clinical thinking and a practical approach to change.
Hypno Health Clinic is informed by a strong academic foundation in psychology, specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy and experience across therapeutic, healthcare, research and assessment settings.
Background and training
Amri Kahts has worked in psychology-related, therapeutic and assessment environments since 2006. Her academic training includes a BA in Information Science, a BSocSci Honours degree in Psychology and an MA in Psychology from the University of Pretoria, completed cum laude. This combination of study, research and applied experience provides a careful foundation for understanding behaviour, emotional wellbeing and the patterns that influence how people think, feel and respond.
Her professional experience has included work within healthcare institutions, a rehabilitation clinic in George, hospital and community settings, and a holistic health centre. Across these environments, her work has involved therapeutic interventions, psychometric assessment and research. It has also reinforced the importance of approaching every person as an individual rather than reducing a concern to a label or a single technique.

Amri is a qualified Clinical and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist. She holds an NCFE-awarded Diploma in Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapy from the highly regarded UK College of Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy in London, completed in 2022. The evidence-based professional practitioner programme integrates clinical hypnotherapy with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and includes practical training, written assessment and supervised case studies.
She is registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register in the United Kingdom and maintains a professional connection with the UK College of Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy. Her clinical work brings these disciplines together in a structured process that combines thoughtful assessment, psychological understanding and practical strategies for change.
Her wider professional background also includes qualification as a Forensic Psychophysiologist through the Academy for Scientific Investigative Training in Philadelphia, specialist interrogation training through the same academy, and qualification as a SCAN analyst. Although this is a distinct area of professional practice, it has strengthened her attention to communication, behavioural detail, structured interviewing and careful assessment.
Today, the majority of sessions are conducted online, allowing clients to work from a familiar and private environment. The approach remains personal, confidential and individually considered, with other arrangements discussed directly where appropriate.
How the work is approached
Psychology-informed
Each process begins with careful listening and assessment. The aim is to understand the concern in context, identify the patterns that are maintaining it and establish a clear, appropriate focus for the work.
Focused and practical
Clinical Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy are integrated according to the individual. Insight is combined with practical tools and techniques that can be used beyond the session and applied in everyday life.
